LEGENDS

Brianna “The Bull” Van Buren burst onto the scene at the inaugural 559 Fights event on April 21, 2012, earning a dominant first-round submission over Kristen Gatz in her debut — and only bout — for the promotion. Her drive and determination led her to the UFC, where she made her debut on UFC on ESPN+ 13 in July 2019 against Livinha Souza, going 1-1 during her time on the sport’s biggest stage.

A cornerstone of 559 Fights since its inception, Alex “The Decision” Perez didn’t just compete inside the cage — he helped shape the show from behind the scenes as a leader of the production team. His hard work paid off when he earned a UFC contract with a win on Dana White’s Contender Series: Week 5 in August 2017. Perez later challenged for the UFC Flyweight Championship in November 2020, cementing his place among the division’s elite.

Representing Sacramento’s legendary Team Alpha Male, Joseph “Bopo” Morales built his foundation inside the 559 Fights cage. As an amateur, he went 3-0-1 and captured the 559 Fights Bantamweight Championship, showcasing early signs of greatness. After a brief exit from the UFC in 2018, Morales roared back with three straight wins and a triumphant run on The Ultimate Fighter 33, where he defeated Alibi Idris in the finale to secure his UFC return in August 2025.

Before becoming a global force in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Fresno’s own Mason Fowler made waves in the 559 Fights cage — going 2-0 with both victories via submission. Fowler has since earned worldwide recognition as one of the sport’s premier grapplers, capturing numerous international titles and recently being crowned UFC BJJ’s first-ever Light Heavyweight Champion.

Roosevelt Roberts’ time in 559 Fights was brief but unforgettable. In his lone appearance, he captured the 559 Fights Lightweight Title with a lightning-fast 32-second submission of Jonathan DeLeon. Roberts rode that momentum through a five-fight win streak, earning a spot on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2018 — where a second-round finish of Garrett Gross punched his ticket to the UFC.

Gilroy’s Nohelin Hernandez battled through early adversity, appearing on 559 Fights #4 and #39, where he faced tough losses to Phillip Cedeno and Holt Fenkins. Refusing to let those setbacks define him, Hernandez rebounded to compile an impressive 9-2 professional record, earning his UFC debut in July 2019 against Marlon “Chito” Vera. His journey from local cards to the global stage embodies the 559 Fights spirit.
